QuestionI have a six month old kitten with feline herpes. He had a corneal ulcer and we treated him with atropine for the pain, terramycin for secondary infections, and viroptics. It helped at first, but when the viroptics was stopped after 4 weeks, the ulcer came back. I should also mention that I give him 500 mg of l-lysine twice a day - this will be for life. I am now treating him with a cheaper antiviral drop, idoxuridine, as I can not afford the viroptics. The ophthalmologist gives him high hopes once his immune system kicks in. I guess I am looking for some success stories, because I am so frustrated with this. I feel like I am doing all the right things - help! Do I just need to be patient?
AnswerHi Maria - Oh, poor kitten. Sounds like you have a good vet. In time, there is a good chance he can fight this....only time will tell!
Please help his immune system with some NuVET Feline Formula - Excellent and low cost - only .50 cents per day.

Also, I would suggest some Silver - here is the link - excellent and only 1 teaspoon per day - all natural ( you can take it too, human grade)
