Swollen lip on cat

Question
I have noticed that my 3 month old black female cat, Boo, has a red swollen lip.  I have set up an appointment with our vet but cannot be seen within the week.  I have never been a cat lover until Boo and I am quite concerned.  I was hoping to get some insight on to whether I should wait for the appointment or should I get a much sooner one.  I would appreciate any information that you could provide.  Thanks.

Answer
perhaps you should see another vet especially if they cant see you this week.  Its OK to get a second opinion.

swollen lips could mean
1. allergic reaction
2. eosinophilic granuloma (rodent ulcer) they can get pretty ugly
3. cancer.
4. abcscess

get it checked out.
