Question
I adopted a rescue dog last week and all was fine for a few days.  I noticed she had the sniffles and a slight cough.  I brought her to the vet to find out she has broncitis and an eye ulcer.  She on antibiotics and eye drops.  I read on the internet the she would loose her appetite but it's been 3 days.  I've tried different types of food (chicken, cheese, etc)to no avail.  Do you have any suggestions?  She also is drinking very little water.

Answer
Hi Cheri:  Bronchitis is an awful feeling for your dog.  Did your vet give you some Robitussin for your dog?  Robitussin may help her to eat more.  It will open up her airway.
Call your vet and tell them she is not eating or drinking much.  Tell them you want to give Robitussin, ask them for the proper dosage for her weight.

Also, you can feed her some yogurt.  Give her 1/2 cup a day.  Get the vanilla flavored.  Also, she may like cottage cheese???

Thanks and BEST wishes!
