my 3 1/2 pound chihuahua is sick

my little Chihuahua has been dry heaving and throwing up a foam like substance for the past day in a half. I'm not sure what to do i don't want to take him to the vet to find out that he is fine and the will give me a huge bill. He seems fine at night when i get home but when im gone to work he is sick and its only been from yesterday and today. He also seems very tired all the time. Is there anything i can do for him at home to make him feel better?

Hello Shayna:  With a 3.5 pound Chi doggie, I wouldn't take any chances.  Chi dogs can dehydrate very quickly!  Also, the can have hypoglycemia, low blood sugar.  Please take your baby to the Vet office ASAP.

There are things you can do at home but I wouldn't take a chance with a Chi.... they are too fragile.
