Question
My cat is 7 years old and he has been peeing everywhere. sometimes in the litter box and sometimes in the bathroom on towels or clothes left on the floor. He is neutered and there is no blood in his pee. Someone told me to check his abdomen so i felt his lower belly and it feels hard. Any suggestions?

Answer
Dear Elisha,
Your cat probably has a bladder inflammation. There is not always blood in the urine that you can see. The reason a friend said to feel the abdomen is that if he is not able to pass urine (gets blocked) he can die. As long as you are seeing urine, even a little bit, you do not need to rush to the energency room.

Try to find a holistic veterinarian with whom to work. www.ahvma.org; www.ivas.org; www.tcvm.com, www.theavh.org; www.drpitcairn.com.  There are a lot in canada, so a google search may help you as well. If you cannot find one - go now to your local vet, get your cat treated, then find one of the homeopathic vets (theavh and drpitcairn) who can help you by phone.

Also, I am not at my desk, so search all experts for cystitis or bladder and read my prior posts. I have a lot of great information that I cannot currently access due to computer problems.

The 7 keys to not having problems in the future inclue (more details in prior posts):
1. Know the current level of health
2. Feed a fresh meat diet
3. Do not vaccinate except for legally required Rabies
4. Learn how animals respond to any treatments - cure, palliation, suppression (my book covers that)
5. Learn healing methods you can use now  - Reiki could help your cat now.
6. Use the fewest chemicals - no chemical flea treatments, for example
7. find holistic healers and vets to help you.
