Question
My boxer mix gave birth to 7 puppies, two have passed away. This morning I found another one pushed to the side.  He was as cold as ice and I thought he was dead.  He moved slightly so I bought him in and warmed him.  He has eaten but seems to be choking and gets stiff like he is having a seizure.  What can I do? I don't want him to pass away like the others.

Answer
Sometimes it's very hard to keep some of these puppies alive.
Keeping him warm and away from mom but fed every two-three hours is about all you can do to keep him going. Don't overfeed him- it doesn't take much to do that. IF you get too much milk into him he will choke and then aspirate it into his lungs which will do him in.
He only needs a teaspoon or so of milk-but many times a day!
Only feed until his little tummy is barely round. I mean barely!
If this is a first litter this isn't unusual for a bitch to push some pups away. I would keep a really close eye on her until they get to be about a week or two old.
