Question
I recently had my cat Homer put down. I asked to have him cremated. The vet office told me the wait time would be 7-10 days. After 2 weeks of not hearing from them, I started to call. This was my 4th phone call to them. Same ol run around, "that is not my area, someone will have to get back to you on that". Finally, the 4th call, I demanded to know what was going on. I finally get a call back, one of the techs from the office left me a voicemail. She said that they messed up and got rid of Homer's body, that he was never cremated. I need to know if I have any rights to prosecute. I tried to explain to the Vet that I need to be compensated for this mistake. Thanks to them, I have nothing to remember Homer by. The office manager told me that reimbursing me for the cremation was the most they can do. My question is...do these Vet offices have insurance for this kind of thing? I think the least they can do is reimburse me the vet bills for Homer, which total a $1K. I dont think that is asking too much! He was my family!!
