my 7wk old puppy

I have a 7wk old pit puppy. My 4 yr old daughter was carrying him and tripped over a tree stump, falling on him. I believe his hip is dislocated, and was wondering if you could let me know how i can tell for sure.

Hi Michelle!  Your poor puppy!  If he is limping, get him to your vet immediately.  If there is a break/fracture, or dislocation, the sooner it is addressed and treated, the sooner it will heal.  The longer it is untreated, the more the tendons and ligaments will stretch, leaving the healing process to take much, much longer, and never to fully heal.
With a dislocated hip you may see that one hip is lower than the other, or with movement, the hip will become extremely painful.  Stretched ligaments can sometimes appear to have the same symptoms, so your best bet would be to get your puppy to your veterinarian.
