Limping Lab

Hello.  I've got a 4 yr old Chocolate Lab, 95 lbs.  He's limped off and on for about a year on his right front leg.  Never too bad, usually after he plays hard then gets better in a few days.  Recently, it hasn't really got better.  He doesn't seem to be in much pain, he just nods when he walks and runs. I took him to my vet, she thinks he may have some arthritis and gave him Deramax, I'm to give for 7 days and then as needed.  The pills don't seem to make a difference at all. I can feel a slight bump(very small) on the back of his leg(I'm guessing on the tendon), about half way between his knee and shoulder. Could this small bump be an issue? Could the issue be something other than arthritis?

Hi Jeff - You could have an x-ray done but as your vet said,
" arthritis is setting in" on your boy.  
Deramax should help a bit but will not stop the acceleration of the joint diseases .... Here is my plan for your chocolate kid!

First off - Please get this boy on some Salmon Oil  - must be pure Salmon oil, give him 1-2 tablespoons per day, mixed into his food.

Next, Start him on some Vitamin E (1) 150 IU each day, just one per day, always...  This is a must for your boy's health.. Safe, too.
