My Dogs Paws

Thank you, first of all, for taking your valuable time to answer my question.  My Black Lab mix chews on his paws alot, I've seen other dogs do it before but not as much as Magnum!  Is this a normal dog thing or should I be taking him in to the vet/treating him for something?

This is most likely due to allergies.  Try wiping his feet off with vinegar and water when he comes in from outside.  Avoid using carpet fresheners and consider air purifiers in the house.  You can also try giving Benadryl...1 mg per pound 2-3 times a day to see if that helps.  Other thing to consider is diet...an all-natural fish-based diet that is free of preservatives, dyes, corn, soy and by-products would be best.  A few brands are Verus, Flint River Ranch and Wellness.
