help my cat

hi, my cat just deliverd 5 kittens between 1 and 2am. i have just noticed she is breathing fast and heavily and there is something hard in the stomach. can it be a dead kitten and will she deliver it eventually? please help...

If she still has a kitten in her and she cannot get it out, she may need a shot of oxytoin from your vet to stimulate her uterus to contract.  If that doesn't help,then she may need a C-section to remove the retained kitty.  Be careful about making a determination of another kitten because cats have a free floating kidney and sometimes that is mistaken for another kitten in the uterus.
