Kitten Cold?

QUESTION: Yesterday this girl posted a ad on craigslist, giving away 2 6 1/2 week kittens, and i decided i would take them. She bought them to me yesterday, a boy and a girl. I bought flea medicine and soft food, she told me she was putting pedialyte into their soft food to make is even softer, their small. The boy is a spit fire and full of energy, he's eating and drinking his water, playing and being social. The girl, i'm worried about her. She isn't eating, her nose is runny, and all she wants to do is cuddle and sleep. She tries to chase the shoe lace when i put it in front of her, but not for long. She does however run to chase me, she's very need of the attention and follows me every where, but other then that she isn't too active, and won't eat! That worries me...what do you suggest i do? Thanks so much!

ANSWER: Hi Bianca - I could give you a few things to try at home but I would rather you take her into a vet ASAP.  She could be anemic and be dehydrated.... Please call a vet today ..

QUESTION: I took them to the vet :) she gave them both dewormer (not sure thats the right way to say it) and gave them each a shot for fleas i believe... I also bought this paste for her, she said its to increase her appetite, and i have to give it to her 3 times a day. :) She also clipped their nails and cleaned their ears. The boy is very healthy, the girl is a little weaker and on the smaller side, she gave me very useful tips and their on their way to good health! :) thanks so much! Any other tips you would be fantastic as well!

Ok, I get it... Glad you have a good vet.
Here are my suggestions for the two babies... it will be good for the both of them.. To help avoid allergies, infections, and help to strengthen the immune system ..

First off- Please give them some salmon oil ( pure ) in the food each day -1/2 teaspoon per cat ..Mix into some wet and dry food.


Also, a good probiotic is needed by the female cat:
Look for some Acidophilus in the Walmart - this is in the health section - get 1 Billion CFUs and give just 1/2 per day. Hide in food or cheese???  Great for her belly and intestines!
