Question
I have three female mice, one is brown (lily) one in black (loca) and the third is white with two black spots (Chicka). I've had loca and chicka for about a month now and I got lily about 2 weeks ago. Lily seems perfectly fine..is very active, and is getting quite fat. Loca has started to have a cough but is still very active in the cage. Chicka is my main concern. I never see her running in the wheel and she sleeps all the time the only time she seems to be active is when I put her on my bed and she just walks around and climbs on stuff. Lately I've been noticing under her tail near her butt hole that it is very stiff like her poop is stuck, one time she actually did have poop stuck around there all squished. She doesn't seem to be grooming herself either. Is she sick or anything? What can I do to help Chicka. I don't think shes that old but she also seems to have shrunk in size from when I got her but I feed them twice a day and change their water. I don't know how to help my baby =[ please help thank you

Chelsea

Answer
They are ill and they need some professional care. I would suggest an integrative veterinarian who specializes in hoistic options for small mammals (mice).  Bob Ulbrich - 503-293-6666, Dolores Robi (818) 880-0838, Steve Tobin - 203-238-9863.

I do not know enough, as I said in my bio, about mice (even though I play with rats) to help you the best. Please contact one of these veterinarians.
