Cats first litter

Question
We rescued this cat and I think she may be 1 year old and pregnant.
Last night she gave birth to 1 still born. I stayed up with her all night and she drank water and ate her food (little bits at a time) she seemed to be very tired (understandably). This morning she seems to be fine normal temperament. There seems to be at least one to two more kittens (due to movement in the abdomen). Do cats give birth to the still borns before they are ready to give birth to healthy kittens?

Answer
Well they usually have the rest of the kittens within a couple of hours later. If she doesn't have these other ones soon you need to get her to the vet because the chances of them surviving drop as the hours go by. Young cats can sometimes have a problem with first litters.

She should be showing signs of labor today as the day progresses. If not call the vet by noon today. I am on Pacific time so count accordingly.
Hope all goes well.
