puppy with ibd and nuetering

i have a puppy hes 11 months old and he is being treated for ibd. he has a couple of good days followed by a day or 2 of a flair up. he is scheduled to be fixed but am worried with his ibd. is it safe to have him fixed or should i just leave him. also could he outgrow his ibd since he is still very young. thank you.

Sometimes anesthesia can have an affect on the gastrointestinal tract of an animal. However, you may be able to minimize GI problems by feeding a prescription bland diet.  Talk it over with your veterinarian to determine the best way to avoid upsetting your pup's stomach  before the surgery.
