Record of Euthanization

Question
Thank you for taking my question.

When an animal is euthanized, is there a record of that somewhere that can be accessed by the general public?

I won't go into all the details, but I lost my dear Golden Retriever, and I have a feeling that the vet that was supposed to be treating her, actually killed her.  I am new to the area, and this was not our regular vet.

It's been almost 7 months now, and I have agonized over this.  I've thought about going to talk to him, but do not believe that if he did kill her, he would tell me.

I greatly appreciate any information you can share with me.

Answer
Veterinarians are in the business of saving animal lives.  If you feel that your veterinarian did something wrong, then you should talk to him.

There is no public record of animal euthanasia.  Each veterinary hospital must keep a log of the euthanasia solution used for each pet as it is a DEA controlled substance.
