Dog and cat losing hair

Hello, I am curious to know what I can do for my dog and cat. I was told that my dog has flea allergies, but I do not have enough money to take either one of the animals for the shot. Is there something else available to me that could help them. And what else could cause loss of hair.. It's only on the back end near the tail... Thank you very much.

Flea allergy is best controlled by flea control.  I recommend monthly flea medication called Frontline for the dog and Advantage for the cat. This is available from vets with out an exam or a prescription.  The cortisone shot stops the intense itching from flea allergy and will make the dog and cat more comfortable so that they will not lick and chew on the rump and tail.
