Neutered Cat Still Sprays

Question
My beloved cat Bobo was acquired via FOCUS and was neutered while still a very young kitten.
We have two older male cats in the house, plus a yellow lab and yellow nape parrot.  Everyone gets along fine, and Bobo is one of the most affectionate cats I have ever had.  Why at the age of 3 does he still spray anything and everything, inside and outside?? The fence, the furniture, flower pots, even the bed headboard?
The person I got him from who has adopted out many, many cats, kittens and dogs, has never heard of this problem with a fixed cat.  My husband is less compassionate about it, but I would love to find a way to stop this behavior asap!  Any help or suggestions would be more than welcome!

Answer
Hi Maggie!  I have to agree, this is very odd behavior for a neutered cat!  Are you absolutely positive that he has been neutered?
The only other thing that would cause this problem would be a urinary tract infection. This is easily cured with antibiotics. Has he been doing this all his life, or just recently?
Has any other cat sprayed in these areas?  If he is smelling another cat's scent, it would cause him to spray the area to mark it with his scent.
I would definately talk to your veterinarian about this, as there may be an infection or other illness present.  It may just be a behavioral problem, but since he is so affectionate, it wouldn't be likely.
I wish I could be of more help.  The first thing would definately be to rule out a urinary tract infection.
Please let me know how it goes!
