Feral Kittens/cats

Question
I try to save the animals when ever I can.  A few weeks ago one of the feral cats I feed left me three kittens, they are about 5 weeks old.  They were very dirty and all three of them had a discharge of pus from their eyes.  I bathed them and cleaned their eyes with hot water compresses. One of them is fine, one is having a bit of of problem with a crusty pus like substance and the third can't even open his eyes the infection is so bad.  Every day I drain the pus and clean his eye area and apply neosporian.  It doesn't seem to be helping the kitten. He is eating, (I feed him by hand and he seems to be playing at times with the other kittens).  I don't know what to do for the little guy. Is there something you can suggest. I only work 4 hours a day so I don't have much money or I would have taken him to a vet.
Also, is there a organization in Rochester, NY area the helps with feral cats?  I feed about 17 of them, I can't stand to see an animal hungry or in pain but, these other cats need to be spayed/neutered and I can't afford that; but I don't want them euthanaised because I can't afford to pay.
Thank you for any information, Joy

Answer
Hi Joy!

Contact Alley Cat Allies (do a google search) and they can help you out. They are national.

Also- NO NEOSPORIN on the eyes. Its NOT eye friendly.  These babies need veterinary help now especially for the eye infections. ;)

Good thing people like you are out there helping the kitties!
