Question
Ironically, I have 3 animals that will need to be spayed in the next month...I think, and I was hoping you could give me some information on spaying. First, I have a boxer puppy that was born June 11th, when should I get her spayed? Is it ok to spay her next week? Should I wait until after her first heat? Also, my parents took in a stray cat that was pregnant. My husband and I had already agreed to take one of the kittens but as it turns out the "momma kitty" doesn't get along with my parents other female cat so we offered to take her as well. So...how long should I wait to get the kitten and the mother spayed. Also, is there anything I should now about bringing the two female cats into the house with my female boxer puppy? Thank You.

Answer
your puppy can be speyed as soon as she is 6 months old (after DEcember 11th).  Some people wait until after the first season but it is better to get them done before.

You should wait a couple of months for the mum so as her milk can dry up and uterus go back to normal.  The kitten can be speyed/castrated as soon as it is 6 months.

Puppies and kittens should get on fine as long as they are brought up together.  you should test the mother with the pup first.  you may have to give her up
