Question
Sharon, Thanks for the very prompt reply. I had to wait a couple of days to try the garlic because my Grandson was here and he terrorizes Buddy the cat. Well, Buddy the cat does NOT like garlic. He even tried to bury it like a piece of poop! He is VERY persnickity and likes only all tuna cat food. He gets one tablespoon in the morning and dry food after that. I'll look forward to plan B.....can I but that wormwood or does it have to be mixed with something. You mentioned a catalog....how do I get one. Thanks again  Diane

Question -
I have a very large male (neutered)5 year old cat who has tapeworms. I know it comes from eating fleas and I usually can control infestations. He is an indoor cat and NEVER goes outside. I'm sure we bring in the fleas...my husband is a flea Magnet! My question is: is there an affective treatment I can give him without going to the vet??? I'm very sure he has tapeworms. He weighs at least 25lbs and maybe more. I have no way to take him to a vet. He is very healthy but WAY to FAT.  I could also use some advice on diet! Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hello Diane -

To rid the body of tapeworms you can begin by adding Garlic powder to your pets food. Garlic is anti-microbial and helps to fight and kill bacteria, infection and internal parasites. Tapeworm cannot tolerate the oil that is released when the Garlic is digested and will die. Don't be afraid to sprinkle it with a heavy hand, cats enjoy the flavor of Garlic and he should eat it right up. This is safe and effective for long term daily use.

There is an herb which has outstanding results with tapeworm, it is called Wormwood. This herb is a vermifuge, meaning it rids the body of internal parasites. It has been used for centuries on man and beast to banish tapeworms. If the Garlic does not work within a week or so, contact me again and I can help you herbally. I make a tincture specifically for pets with tapeworm that you could administer to him. With his weight of 25 pounds, the remedy will work very well on him and he should have it passed in no time.

I hope this information has helped you and your pet.

Answer
Hello Diane -

I am sorry to hear your cat does not like Garlic. Some cats are finicky eaters and won't touch it. Dogs, well, they will eat anything and LOVE Garlic.

Plan B consists of a tincture I make called "Worm Away". It is an Aloe Vera based remedy and consists of herbs to rid the body of internal parasites. My concern is that your cat will not take it - it has a bitter flavor and if he is that finicky he may not even go near the smell of it. Does he allow you administer medications orally? If yes, you should not have a problem. You would have to give him 12 drops twice a day for 1 (one) week, then abstain for 3 (three) days. Abstaining allows the body to utilize the herbs at full potential and is also a good test to see if the tapeworm has gone away. If not, begin again twice a day for another week. This remedy works very well for tapeworms and will also help loosen the stool a bit to help rid the body faster. When the stool is loosened, the parasite cannot absorb the nutrients fast enough and they starve.

If you want more information and a catalog, email me at wintersaurora@yahoo.com and I will be happy to try and help your cat. Email me your address and I will put a catalog in the mail to you tomorrow.

Thanks again and I will do my best to help you and your pet.
