Question
I got my cockapoo almost 2 months ago and noticed about a week after, a thick rough scaly patch on the outside of the flap on his ear and a patch on belly.  Took to vet.  She prescribed ketoChlor shampoo 3x week.  No change.  Next she prescribed Clavamox 125 to take for 2 weeks. No change.  Next she scraped the skin and looked under microscope. couldn't find anything. She then scraped more to send away for dermatophyte culture. Still nothing.  She is now recommending me to try some type of topical ointment or doin a skin biopsy. The patch is not getting any better and i don't think to much worse, maybe a little.  It's getting very expensive.  some-one suggested I try some tee tree oil and silvershield.  Can you help me?

Hi Cathy  :0)

Over 20 years ago I switched to totally holistic pet care and began studying canine nutrition and alternative therapies. The main drive behind this was the fact that here in Florida, skin problems are the main source of vet revenue and the main cause of suffering and even ultimately death for so very many dogs.

Eliminating the problem is actually fairly simple and very affordable when compared to the chronic vet expenses you will face if you continue on that path. I couldn't afford it, and I suspect that you can't either. (Even if you could, why put your pup through the cycle of suffering that he will face?)

At any rate, since I have written books and articles on the subject, there is way too much information for me to tell you in an e-mail, quickie answer, plus I would do better in a circumstance of actually being able to talk to you and ask and answer questions.  I would appreciate it if you would call me any evening or today (Tues) or tomorrow (Wed) on my office phone:727-327-8769 , or other days at my shop number:727-327-2356. I know that I can help you...I've done it for hundreds of dogs and their people.

In the mean time, go to my web site http://www.critteroil.com and read the articles there. They actually contain all of the information that you need, and Critter Oil is what you need topically.

I have just finished writing a book entitled "Simple Steps to a Healthy Pet" that I will have available on line in e-book format shortly after the first of the year, but I'd be delighted to give you the 'in a nut shell' version tailored specifically to you if you'll call me.  There's no charge, by the way, and if you have along distance charge, I'll gladly call you right back.

It isn't rocket science and just because your vet is clueless, doesn't mean that you have to be.  You have me.

Call me!
Sue

PS: For anyone reading this who has a dog with skin problems, this note is for you too!!!
