Question
my 6 yr old weimariner is getting lumps, on his back on his legs, one one his stomach ( this one is growing).  the rest are still small (size of a quarter about).  is there anything to help keep him from getting more or growing larger ?
I feed him a raw meat diet now , but the  lumps keep developing .
it seems he is unable to handle fat ?  what causes this, is there anything to help prevent it or dissolve the lumps ?

Answer

Hello Carol - some dogs are just prone to this and it is all genitic.  Not too much you can do except feed good quality foods and add a few oils or supplements.

1.  How about going with some Innova EVO or Wellness Core - dry dog food in the am... ( this is grain free feeding )
In the Pm offer your raw meats / mostly White meats.

2.  Add some pure salmon oil ( must be pure) Grizzley or Yummy Chummies brands:
Give 1 tablespoon 1 x per day - mixed into the raw or dry foods.
GREAT for skin and the fatty deposits.

3.  Give 1 NuVET wafer per day : EXCELLENT to aid in the Immune system and helps to reduce any inflammation / healing.... All Natural and safe: only sold in Holistis vet offices or here:
http://www.nuvet.com/81098  ( tell them pet Nurse Marie sent you for the 60 count at 39.99 or the 90 count bottle of wafers at 55.00)
GET 15% off on auto-ship and you can cancel any time...
YOU may want to give 2 per day for the first 10 days and then drop to 1 per day...
( that is up to you)
Call NuVET at   1-800-474-7044
again - use my name as your referral ( Marie Peppers of Ask the Pet Nurse / code 81098)

Ok -

grain free dry food

salmon oil

nuvet wafer supplements

Please give me an update in 30 days -
YOU should see a reduction or at least no more increase in this problem.

BEST wishes...
