Question
Is there something holistic that can be substituted for Temeril? My dog has been given Temeril for coughing. It has really addressed the coughing but he now is ravenous, acts as if he hasn't eaten in days. Normally a very mild mannered dog now practically bites my finger off to get a treat or even if he just thinks I have something to eat in my hand. It also causes him to drink a lot more water and, therefore, has to go outside often to relieve himself. Help please! He's 15 yrs old. I hate to see his last years be like this. All he wants to do is EAT!

Answer
I am sure that there is a homeopathic remedy or protocol that would help your friend live a much longer, healthier life, but the expert you need for this level of help is my holistic vet, Dr Gerald Wessner.  He is absolutely outstanding and truly there for the animal. He does telephone consultation and swill send you the homeopathic remedies that you need. Homeopathy is also considerably less expensive than drugs. I suggest that you call the office at 352-245-2025 and set up a phone consultation appointment then gather up any information that you have from your vet including diagnosis, medications, etc. plus write down any specific questions that you have. This will save  time and subsequently money. Dr Wessner is very good about not charging for time that he doesn't spend with you by rounding up to the nearest hour like some vets do so if you are thoroughly prepared you will spend less time on the phone and that time will be more productive as well.  I know that you will be happy with the results.
