Question
Hi - I have a 6 month old GSD Puppy. A good pedigree. I may be reloacting to USA, Seattle, in the next 4 months time. Can I take my GSD Puppy with me? What is the procedure? How expensive it is to relocate him to USA. Please let me know. Thank you & regards. - Megs

Answer
Dear Megs
Thanks for your questions.  It really is VERY easy for dog entry into
USA.  At time of travel, you should have a health certificate issued
by your veterinarian within 10 days of travel.  I highly recommend
dog be up to date with ALL vaccinations.
The most important is to have a rabies vaccination.  Should be at
least 30 days old at time of travel.  There is some flexibility with
this.
The best way to bring the dog is as excess baggage.  This is MUCH
cheaper and he would clear customs with you.  This does NOT mean in
the cabin, but as checked baggage.  You would need to get prices and
other information from the passenger reservation people with the
airline you are flying with.  The other option is as cargo.  Much
more expensive, but may be the only way.  If you would provide me
with more specifics as to your travel plans, I could assist you more.
Thanks again, and good luck
Sincerely,  Jerry Mishler
