Traveling from US to Greece-Two small dogs

Question
QUESTION: Hi there! I am planning on traveling with my two small dogs (both under 10 pounds combined) from the US to Greece. I was curious as to what the Greek requirements are for pets entering the country. What types of shots and paperwork are necessary? Also, is there a quarantine period once they enter Greece? I plan on shipping them as cargo, since I will be traveling on a military flight that does not allow pets as carry-on/cargo. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

ANSWER: Greece is part of the EU.  Needed for entry: microchip   rabies vac
at least 30 days old and less than 1 yr.   APHIS 7001 international
health cert issued within 10 days of travel and endorsed by usda
Most important:  EU form 998  English-Greek which records microchip
and rabies info, and also endorsed by usda.  Travel and entry is
very easy
I recommend if you can to use Lufthansa.  There is NO quarantine
Where in US will you ship them from?
If you have access to mil vet, then paperwork will NOT need to be
endorsed by usda and you will save some money

QUESTION: Both of my little ones are current on their rabies shots and have micro chips. I've notified my vet of the required forms necessary so that shouldn't be too difficult. The only problem that I'm running into is finding someone to ship them from Dallas to Greece. Do you have any suggestions on what airline or shipping company can accommodate? I've called several airlines and most don't fly to Crete. Again, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
