Question
Hi Rachel
We are planning an interstate trip from Florida through Georgia into South Carolina and back to Florida. We have three dogs. We bring the dogs with us from the UK every year for our six month stay in Florida so all have upto date shots and have UK pet passports. Are there any state to state requirements we may need. We are planning the trip
using an RV in early Jan.
Thanks
Dave

Answer
Hi Dave,

Thanks for your inquiry.  The US is pretty relaxed about interstate transportation of pets.  Technically pets are supposed to have a health certificate issued by their vet stating that they are healthy to cross state lines.  However, the odds of anyone actually asking to see this are slim to none.  I would say that keeping a copy of the vet records with you, particularly their rabies vaccination record, would  be wise.  This might come in more handy at RV parks or various destinations that might ask for pet owners to show current vaccinations to use their facilities.

Have a great trip!

Kind regards,
Rachel Farris
