RE: sick starfish. you mentioned treating the tank before adding a new starfish. What should i use to treat the tank, and does the sickly star need to be removed? The tank/water are about 2 months old. I have done one water change so far, and am planning to do another within the next week. The tank has a purple lobster, and some live rock.

Hi Veronica,
   Just remove the sick star and add nothing else for about a month. Any bacteria that infected the star would most likely have dissipated by then. Do your normal water change and get a star that looks healthy and has been eating well. Good luck, Gerry.
