hello i just got a new fish for my tank and the fish has a looks like a parasite on it. it is a half an inch big and is stuck to the side of the fishes belly  what is it thanks guy

I need more information to help. What color is it? How big? Hard, soft, crystalline, gooey, etc... I need a detailed description or a picture. Sorry, but there are just too many ailments and parasites out there to try and diagnose without these. You can also do a google image search if you cant get a picture or dont know exactly how to describe it.
