need help on set up of my new 42gal corner tank

QUESTION: I have a question on my tank i have just set up my tank 2weeks ago with just saltwater that i have made my self my readings are 1.023 and ph was 8.4 two weeks in i have bought my live rock from a non vendor. i had put in just over 60lbs of rock in and used 20lbs of carib sea pink fiji live sand. when i put sand in got cloudy and i looked my filter's had clogged up so i changed them. tank is now clear and clean. i just took a reading from my tank salinity and 1.023 and my ph is 8.0 no ammonia ,nitrate , nitrite. is that good or do i have a problem ? This is what im using on my tank i have 42 gal tank , with a 150w heater ,hang on the back power filter that is a whisper 60,and a maxi-jet 900 . i am planing on going bigger on the power head . light i have a coralife high compact light 50/50 and a regular t5 50/50 light. what should i be looking for in establishing my tank to add my cleaning crew .

ANSWER: How long has the tank been setup? If you took those readings right after you out live Rock and sand in then the tank will still have to cycle. If you took the readings several weeks or months after then you are probably ready to add the cleanup crew. Sounds like your doing everything perfect so far.

QUESTION: How long do i have to cycle my tank b4 i get a good reading?  Should i keep my lite off or should i have it on 7-8 hrs a day like i normaly would?  Rock has no smell is that a good thing

How long the tank cycles depends in the reading. wait until they are all at zero then you know the cycle us done you should see I spike in both nitrite and nitrate. Having lights in doesn't affect anything so may as well keep them off and save in electricuty. And the rocks are good.
