Orange film

I have a 55 gallon fish tank that we decided to switch over to salt water we have one great big live rock two clown fish and one starter fish right now the past few days I noticed that an orange looking film has got on the sides of the glass and on the seashells in the bottom of the tank only on one side of the tank the other side has nothing on it my husband thinks it is he fish food causing it because it is the side he feeds them on I noticed that it is only the side where the heater is I dont know if you have any information it would be helpful I need to know what it is and how to get rid of it and if it is going to harm my fish

Can you pleae tell me more about your tank.  How long ago did you switch it over?  How long has it been running. What are the current water peramters?  hat is your regular routine for maintenance?  how often and how much do you do for water changes...

What have you done to try to eliminate the film?
