Saltwater fish tank

Question
I'm setting up a saltwater fish tank I would like live rock and choral and plants in there as well as some fish. What filtration system is best to use. And should I buy one or make my own...

Answer
The best filtration is relative to what you would like to keep in the future. For reef tanks, I would recommend a sump system with a protein skimmer and refugium. For fish only systems, I would recommend a wet/dry filtration system. No matter which way you go, live rock is the best filtration possible. If enough is used, between 3/4 and 2 pounds per/gallon, than it will handle nearly all fish waste and other nutrients that go into your system.

If you would like any more details about any of the systems I mentioned above, please feel free to leave me a response requesting more details.
