-----Question-----
We have a 46gal tank; 2 mickey mouse, 4 guppies, and 2 glass fish. We've done the treatment for Ick (9 days ago) but the glass fish still have a few spots on them. Now, the mickey mouse fish have spots on them again. We turned up the temperature, added salt, and changed out 10% of the water with distilled water. The water is clear and all of our tests come out like they are supposed to. Should we try the treatment again OR what other steps do we need to take to get rid of this once and for all? Thanks so much for your help!
-----Answer-----
Hi Dawn,
Continue using the salt treatment as it is proven to be very effective in most cases. It should work but if not you can use a medication called Protozin. Follow the instructions and remove any carbon from the filter.

Good luck!
Chloe.

Answer
Hi Dawn,
Aquarium salt can harm your live plants although, you can use a smaller dose at 1tsp per five gallons of water. This is still effective without harming your live plants. Add the salt gradually every hour until you have reached a maximum of 82f.

Chloe.
