Question
I have a young Tiger Oscar Fish that is about 3 inches long now. I've had it for weeks and it seemed to be doing fine. Then it got several pale looking sores allover and some are even turning into holes. I'm pretty sure it's HITH, but I don't know how to treat it. Could you help me out?

Answer
Are you sure that it is HitH? It sometimes can be a disease called Hexamita. You can tell if it's Hexamita because the eyes turn black and they spend time in the bottom corner of the tank and they swim backwards.
If it is HitH, you can treat that with:
frequent water changes
adding vitamins
add greens in leaf form
Remove cardon filter

Warning: Oscars are suseptible to Hexamita; and HitH and Hexamita can be seen at the sametime.
