Question
hello, my question is  I have 3 cherry barb's in a 30 gallon tank. My kids and I purchase them 9 months ago. They have been fine with other community fish.Recent times they have been aggressive towards other fish. All 3 are males. The water PH is high over 8.0, and only feed once aday.

Answer
Kyle,

What other fish do you have in the tank with them? I always tell people that even though the female fish are not always the prettiest fish, they tend to do better in community tanks. If you like the males, limit them to one. Males are very territorial and will fight other fish. Chances are when you bought them they were babies and now they are adults trying to set up "top" fish. It is best to have a 1 male to 2 female ration in the tank. They usually do best if there are at least 5 of them in the tank. Hopefully you don't have any Mollies or neon tetra's. Good tank mates can be Tiger Barbs, Blue Platy's, Kuhli Loaches, and Black Veil Angelfish. What I would do is add a few females in the tank and they boys will leave the other fish alone and start harassing the females lol.
