upside down tetra!

Question
hello. i noticed that my tetra (sorry,i don't know the type, i got it from a friend a long time ago) is floating upside down at the top of my tank...but its not dead! its mouth is constantly moving and it can move its fins and everything. i am 99% sure it is because i changed its water WAY too quickly by mistake (from cold water to hot water) and i was wondering if you know something i can do to cure it. (btw, this just happened today so i haven't tried feeding it or anything)

Answer
Hi Paul,
Oh gosh, sorry to hear that. Sounds like the little fish is in shock and unfortunately there is not much you -can- really do besides hope he recovers OK. Which he may/may not it is hard to know. I've seen fish snap out of bad situations but little fish like tetras do have a harder time.

Make sure no other fish are picking on him and the current from the filter isn't pushing him around the tank since he is in a rather helpless physical state.

I hope all goes well.
Karen~
