Question
Last week i went to Petsmart and bought a 16 gallon bow front aquarium. So far i have followed all advice from the worker. I was planning to buy 2 red tailed sharks and 2 eclipse/sun catfish will the fish survive with proper care and also is it possible to breed them.

Answer
Hi Mason,
The red tailed sharks will be ok because they get to only 6 inches max.  But the eclipse catfish get really big.  They will get bigger than a foot long.  You would have to upgrade tanks further down the road.  Keeping a fish too big for the aquarium will stunt its growth, thats why people assume and always say, "oh, they will never outgrow your aquarium, its all ok".  They are dead wrong.  Fish dont "outgrow" their tanks because it has stunted their growth and it will cause health problems in the future.  Be sure to cycle your tank before adding the fish :).
