Question
my aquarium is cloudy and we have put the clear water chemical in there it clears up for a minute and then goes cloudy again. what should i do?

Answer
If you are beginning a new tank this is perfectly normal. Often cloudy water doesn't appear right when the aquarium is set up. Instead it appears days, weeks, or even months later. The cause is usually due to a bacterial bloom. As the new aquarium goes through the cycling process, it is not unusual for the water to become cloudy. It will take several weeks to several months to fully establish these bacterial colonies. Once they are established they are then able to clear wastes from the water. Over time the  cloudiness will resolve itself. Decaying plants or uneaten food can also cause the cloudy water seen in bacterial blooms. This is something to not panic over. Keep the aquarium clean by removing decaying plants (if you have any) and uneaten food. Be sure to vacuum the gravel regularly and performing partial water changes. This will quickly resolve the bacterial bloom and cloudy water conditions.
