FEMALE ZEBRA FINCH

Please can you advise why my female Zebra Finch is constantly pecking at her rear end and pulling out tail feathers as soon as they start to grow.

Hi Marion,
check to make sure she isn't experiencing egg binding..This is when the hens has an egg which won't come down,and can be very dangerous. The symptoms are when they sit on the cage bottom,and act lethargic. if she isn't then it could be that she's bored.  Is she with other finches?? If she is alone I highly recommend getting more as they don't like to be alone and could become lonely.
