Finch blood clot on leg - help :(

Not sure how he got that, but my male finch has a huge ball of blood clot on his left leg.  He flies around ok and is eating and drinking, but I'm afraid that this ball of blood clot is going to cause him to die.  I want to pinch a needle to let the blood out, but not sure if I am doing right or wrong on that?  Any medicine that can help?
Please help.

I don't have much experience dealing with blood clots in legs. I find that finches bleed very easily and it can be hard to stop the blood once it starts.
It doesn't sound like a bad idea but have some cornstarch (it supposedly gets the blood to stop) ready for it. I can't be 100% sure on this so I suggest you call up the vet first and ask them if you can.
