balance/dizziness?

I found my society finch on the cage floor this morning.  He was looking straight up (almost behind himself) and seemed off balance or dizzy ie fell over when trying to fly or walk.  I picked him up and he was unusually calm, then all of a sudden he regained himself and flew out of my hand.  He flew just fine for a little while then just dropped to the floor.  I have been observing and he seems perfectly fine for most of the the time.  However, sometimes when he looks up for too long or strains his head too far back, he gets off balanced or dizzy and ends up hanging upside down on the perch or just falls off.  Any suggestions?

Sounds like you're bird is sick or got hit in the head really hard. Check the back of his head for blood pooling and if there is take him to the vet and they will prescribe something to help with that (I can't remember what it's called). What you may want to do is put some food and water on the floor. This way when he falls to the floor there will be something for him to eat. Just make sure it stays clean since it is on the floor.
