finches suddenly lost motor skills and lurching around

Question
what could be causing both our zebra finches to drop to the bottom of their cage and be unable to stand upright? they are lurching around like they are drunk or their  balance has been shot. This happened once before and we lost a couple so quick. one of the survivors is sick again with this mysterious illness. I feel like minutes count what can I do ?

Unfortunately I'm no vet but I've had this happen to my own finches on the rare occasion. My best guess is it's either a stroke or brain damage. Either way it can't be fixed. The best you can do is put some food and water at the bottom where they can access it. If you're really worried, a trip to the vet is in order
