male finch head hair loss

I have 2 male finches in a cage together for 3 years. Just one of them is bald now on the top of it's head. I don't see any pecking going on and I make sure they have food and water. What can be causing this? They are both flying around and acting normally.v8xnh

I would still watch closely for pecking. Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it isn't happening. That said, I'm going to assume that this is because of a deficiency; more than likely an iodine deficiency. Iodine helps birds grow new feathers. Iodine supplements can be purchased from the website provided. If he continues to lose feathers after with no sign of new ones coming in after two weeks, please contact me.
