grit for finches

I have purchased two zebra finches. I was advised to provide grit for them to aid digestion. Do I actually add this to their seed or provide it separately? And in what quantities?? many thanks. Linda

Grit is needed but seeds don't have enough nutrients in them to be good enough for the birds.
At pet stores that sell birds, you can usually find nutrient suppliments that contain grit that you add to the seeds. The box should have how much you add to the seeds.
