fur on my finches foot

Question
someone told me to use cat fur or dog hair as a nesting materials so i did... my mail zebra finch got it all wrapped around his tiny little foot and ankle....i tryed for about 5 minutes to get it off after i caught him but i wont come off its like a mat on a bird...will he survive with this on him or will he eventually pick it off himself? it seems to be affecting his biggest toe the most

Whoever told you that has no clue what they're doing. Cat and Dog hair is too fine and causes exactly this problem. I would either continue to try (while being VERY careful finch bones are thinner than toothpicks) or take him in to a vet and have them give it a shot. They would stand a better chance at getting the hair off. Don't let him try to take it off himself. It may end up in his throat and suffocate him.
