male aggressive behaviour

Question
Ive had my two zebra finches for a couple of years and these past few weeks the male has started to attack the female by flying at her and trying to mount her.
She responds by flying madley around the cage, dropping to the bottom of the cage and hiding in the seed basket.
I tried putting a breeding house in the cage but that made matters worse so I removed it.
Last night I saw that the females feathers have been plucked from the back of her head leaving a bald patch.
Before I got the male she did have another mate with whom she had eggs but he died soon afterwards.
Should I seperate them or do you think they will sort their differences out ? Thankyou.

Answer
You have an aggressive male. He won't stop. This won't end. Separate them and get rid of him. Let someone who can handle an aggressive male have him. Get her a different boy. Go through a breeder though. They will have a better idea of the personality of the birds. Also, birds from breeders are in general much more healthy than any store bought bird.
