Question
I have a very large 4' octogon cage. I have a pair of gouldians a pari of gold breasted and 2 male zebra's. The male zebra started fighting. I decided to get 2 zebra females. Once I introduced the females 1 one the zebra finches started chasing and picking on ALL the finches.  This went on for 1 day. I removed him from the large cage. Everything seems to have settled down in the large cage but the solo zebra is very unhappy alone. Should I reintroduce him to the cage or will he just act crazy again? Did I not give it enough time to "work" itself out? Should I move one of the females in with him? HELP!!!

Answer
Sounds to me like he is ready to nest. Try introducing one of the females to him in his cage and see what he does. If that doesn't calm him down, leave him alone for a couple weeks and then put his cage next to the big one. If he's a good boy, put him in the big one with the others and watch his reaction closely.
