Baby Finches Are Dying...

Hi I really need some help my zebra finch just hatched one of four eggs and the baby is now dead on the bottom of the cage. this is the second time they ahve killed their young by either not feeding them or tossing them. I can't stand to see it happen. Do you ahve and advice? There's food for them like the Exact Baby Formula stuff and the mom's just not feeding. The first baby last month we were able to ahnd feed after it was tossed for a day and the it died... Please help!

I think for now the best thing to do is to take the nest out and not let the pair have babies. It could be that they are too young and incapable of caring for the babies. Finches start to be able to handle babies around two years of age. Hand feeding is hard and they stand a good chance of dying.
So just take the nest out and don't let them have any babies until you feel are capable of handling them or they are.
