Question
Dear Megan,

Good Day to You. I would like to ask you that I have 3 pair of 1 adult Javas. They are not breeding since 5,6 months. 2 of them are of 6 months or so and remaining one is around 1 year and have bred twice. They are locating in the bottom partition of the cages. Need your kind suggestion that do I keep them all in a single cage like a colony or do I change their cages from the bottom partition to upper sides. Your kind expertise in this regard is required.

Regards

JB

Answer
So I'm guessing that you're asking why your birds aren't breeding and what you can do to change that.
Javas, like most finches, need to be a year old before they start to successfully breed so it sounds like they are too young. How large is your cage? For ONE pair of Javas, the cage should be no smaller than 71cm long X 42cm high X 41cm deep. What kind of nest are you using? Javas prefer nest boxes to wicker nests.
Other than that, I'm not sure what else you're asking me.

I will continue to try and help you as best I can.
