Question
I HAVE ONE BUDGIE. I AM PLANNING TO ADOPT ANOTHER HAND-RAISED BUDGIE. MY PRESENT CAGE MEASURES 11+ BY 15+ INCHES, WITH A HOUSE-TYPE TOP. WILL THAT BE BIG ENOUGH FOR BOTH BIRDS? OR WHAT MINIMUM SIZE WOULD YOU SUGGEST...JACK

Answer
It should be big enough, but watch them for a while to make sure that they don't seem to feel trapped.  I have two budgies in a cage almost identical to yours, but they've lived in it all of their lives since I bought them from a breeder two years ago.  Cages have such strange shapes sometimes that it can be hard to tell what a "minimum size" should be.  Some new cages have ratings on them that estimate how many birds can fit in a cage comfortably, but it's really a matter of your preference and the birds'.
